Mark Lightfoot

Mark A Lightfoot, age 68, of Wilson, WI, passed away on February 18, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed at home, surrounded by family. Mark was born on February 2, 1951, in Eau Claire, WI, to Andrew and LaRayne Lightfoot. Mark grew up and attended schools in the Eau Claire and Elk Mound, WI communities. He graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1969.

On June 24, 1972, Mark married his wife Beverly Johnson of Colfax, WI. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Christopher, Rebecca, and Allison.

After high school Mark was employed at National Presto Industries in Eau Claire. He went on to attend and graduate from District One Technical Institute, Eau Claire, with a degree in Welding and Metal Fabrication in 1974. In 1987, Mark utilized his education and experience gained while working at American Hoist & Derrick in St. Paul, MN to create his own business, Northern Metal Fab, Inc. First located in Hudson, WI, Mark moved the business to Baldwin, WI in 1991. The business grew to two plants located in the Baldwin Industrial Park, employing many people in Baldwin and the surrounding communities.

Mark is survived by his wife, Bev; son Chris (Alli Azzone) Lightfoot; daughters Becky (Jeremy) Eventyr and Allison (Robert Pennington) Lightfoot; and adored granddaughter, Cedar Eventyr; brother Chuck Lightfoot (Pat); sisters Mary Holm and Susan (Shawn Walker) Palomar; brother-in-law Alan (Donna) Johnson and sisters-in-law Janet Creaser, Marilynn Benish, and Linda (Mike) Andres; Uncle Kelly (Maxine) Schockman; and many, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.Mark is preceded in death by his father & mother, Andrew & LaRayne; mother and father-in-law, Alice & Jasper Johnson; and brothers-in-law William Creaser and Robert, Ronald, Raymond, and Pete Johnson.

Mark loved fast cars, loud motorcycles, hunting and fishing adventures with his brother and friends, and his beautiful flower and rock gardens. He will be remembered for his deep intellect, quiet empathy, and unwavering devotion to his employees, customers, friends, and family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin, WI. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Church, Hammond, WI, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private interment for Mark will be held at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to Adoray Home Health & Hospice of Baldwin, WI or Immaculate Conception Church of Hammond, WI.

Services have been entrusted to The O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, WI.
