With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Mark Samuel Hafner. Born on February 8, 1952, in Saint Paul, MN, Mark spent his life devoted to his family, faith, and community. He treasured his Catholic beliefs and found solace and strength in his daily Mass attendance and commitment to serving through organizations such as the Franciscan Brothers of Peace and the Knights of Columbus.
Mark’s life was rich with interests and passions that reflected his vibrant spirit. An avid reader, swimmer, and runner, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Mark’s talents in woodworking and painting showcased his creativity and dedication to craftsmanship. He found tranquility in biking, boating, and scuba diving, always seeking new adventures and experiences. Whether exploring Europe, enjoying the Northshore, or embarking on cruises, Mark had a profound appreciation for the beauty of the world around him.
In addition to his varied pursuits, Mark honorably served in the Army National Guard, embodying a commitment to service and duty. His respect for his country and dedication to the values it stood for were evident in all aspects of his life.
His unconditional love and support brought light to those around him, and his presence will be deeply missed especially by those closest to him including; his son Craig Hall; sister Michele (Bernie) Drevnick; brother Michael (Jean) Hafner; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Genevieve.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on August 9, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by Mass at 11:00 am., with luncheon, honoring Mark’s memory and the impact he had on all who knew him. Mark will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Saint Paul, MN, with a burial ceremony at 2:00 pm.
