Marlee May Erlandson

Marlee May Erlandson, age 2. Surrounded by her loving family, Marlee May was granted her angel wings on February 23, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Marlee was born to James and Josie Erlandson on October 8, 2015. Her life seemed short to many, but those she touched knew the quality of her existence far exceeded the quantity of time she was lent to us. Her toothy smile and bright personality were a blessing to everyone she encountered.

Although she was never married, she spent her whole life beside her daddy, her first true love. Marlee had many jobs while here on Earth. She was a teacher, and taught everyone how to cherish life and the simple things in it. She was a comedian, bringing joy to everyone who met her. As of February 23rd, she was promoted to a guardian angel, her most important job yet.

She had many hobbies: duck watching with Papa, playing outside, snuggling, tractor rides, baking with her Yaya, and she loved animals.

Marlee is preceded in death by her second cousin Brady Sanford; maternal great-grandparents, Harry (Darlyne) Mark; and paternal great-grandfather, Jim Erlandson. Marlee leaves behind her parents, James and Josie (nee Mark) Erlandson; maternal grandparents, Brian (Dolly) Mark; paternal grandparents, Rock (Jackie) Erlandson; maternal great-grandparents, Pat (Nancy) Hines; paternal great-grandmother, Laura Erlandson; paternal great-grandparents, Roger (Carol) Sanford, and Judy Sanford; aunts, Savanna and Dakkota Mark, and Tomi Erlandson; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Marlee’s family says, “We would like to thank everyone in our community and surrounding communities. The love shown for Marlee and our family has been overwhelming. We are so grateful for you all.”

Mass of the Angels will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, February 27th at St. Francis Catholic Church, 231 W. Woodworth St., Ellsworth WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday, and also from 4:00-7:00pm on Monday, February 26th, at the church. Marlee will be laid to rest at the Lost Creek Cemetery of El Paso WI. Memorials
may be directed to the Marlee May Erlandson Scholarship Fund at the Hiawatha National Bank of Hager City WI. Services are in the care of the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home of Ellsworth. 715-273-4421
