Marlin T. Krear

Marlin Theodore Krear, age 88, of River Falls passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 29, 2023 at Comforts of Home in River Falls. Marlin was born to Theodore and Irene (Giester) Krear on April 7, 1935 in River Falls, Wisconsin. He attended River Falls High School graduating with the class of 1953. He enlisted into the United States Army National Guard. Marlin would marry Darlene Huppert; their union blessed them with six children. Darlene passed away in 1991. Marlin later married Carol Pearson in 1993 and spent the remainder of his life with her.

Marlin was extremely proud of being a lifelong farmer. He love his cows, going bowling from time to time, taking trips to the casino, John Deere tractors, and going out to eat with his family, very regularly too! Marlin loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also had a great sense of humor, he loved to joke and have a good time. He would even write letter to the school for his grandchildren whenever they would wake up late and miss the bus saying, “Sorry a cow got out”.

Marlin is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carol; his children: Jeffery Krear, Gerald Krear, Carol (Ed) Frame, Patty (Kevin) Johnson, Jody (Mark) Austrum, and John (Robin) Krear; his stepchildren: Rick (Kris) Swanson, Chris (Libby) Swanson, Dave (Sandy) Swanson, and Carrie (Greg) Hamm; along with 30 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene; daughter, Barbara Jean Krear; his parents: Theodore and Irene; grandchildren: Mathew Krear, Justin Krear and Jordan Tulgren; and his brother, Lamoine Krear.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St Bridget Catholic Church: 211 E Division St. River Falls, WI 54022. A visitation start at 10:00am until the start of Mass. Interment will be at St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery.
