Martin L. “Marty” Herbers of Ellsworth, WI, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away following a brief illness on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving son Todd (Julia Gunther) and stepchildren Caren, Schell, John, and Mark. Further survived by his cherished grandson Jacob Herbers and his sisters, Roxie Miller and Debbie Bauer. He was preceded in death by his wife Marlys Benish (Dumond) in 2018.

Martin was born in Detroit Lakes, MN to Richard and Ruth Herbers and grew up in Paynesville, MN. After graduating from high school, he bravely served his country in the Air Force as an MP in Europe. Following his military service, Martin moved to River Falls, WI, where he embarked on a career path that included serving as a security guard at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus and then completing training to become a police officer. He later went on to pursue a career in sheet metal fabrication.

Martin was known for his love of movies, as well as being an avid reader, enjoying a wide range of books from Harry Potter to Vince Flynn.
His love for family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

Marty will be interred privately at the Beldenville Cemetery.
