Martin J. “Marty” Ryan, age 63, of Somerset WI, died on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his home after suffering a heart attack. Born in Chicago on January 2, 1947, Martin moved to Somerset in 1979. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Martin was an accomplished entrepreneur and business owner, founding Dalson Foods, a global meat-trading company and Richmar Industries. He also owned and operated other businesses, including real estate developments and a convenience store.

Martin will be missed by many and will be remembered for his unique business style and huge heart. He was involved in many charitable organizations. Martin is survived by his partner, Richard G. Sterbenz.

A memorial service will be held NEXT Friday, January 14 , from 1 to 4pm, with time for reflections at 3:45 pm, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, 715-386-3725. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Avanti Center of Hudson.
