Marvin (Bud) Hayes, age 88, of Ellsworth, passed away on July 26, 2024 peacefully at his home. He was born on May 20, 1936 to Marvin and Lola (Owens) Hayes in River Falls, WI. On February 24, 1962, Bud married the love of his life, Rena Armbruster, from this union they were blessed with four children: Greg, Mike, Steve, and Angel.

Bud was in the United States Army from 1958 – 1960. He worked many jobs throughout his life, and owned the Big Horn Bar in Beldenville for many years. Bud liked to go raccoon hunting and brought home many! He loved all animals, especially horses; He pulled horse for a number of years. Bud also had many miniature horse sales in Eau Claire, WI. Bud loved auctions and he could never pass up a good garage sale either!

Bud is survived by his wife, Rena; children: Greg Hayes, Mike (Tracey) Hayes and Steve Hayes; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brothers: Daniel Hayes, and Harley Hayes; sister: Margaret Koolmo; sisters-in-law: Alice Mercord, Lisa Hayes, Sally Hayes, and Elaine Hayes; along with many nieces and nephews.

His daughter Angel Johnson; his parents, and grandparents; and three brothers preceded him in death: Duane Hayes, Jack Hayes and Harvey Hayes.

A Celebration of Life for Bud will be from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Kinni-Engelhart American Legion Post 204: 139 S Oak St, Ellsworth, WI 54011. A private family interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth.
