Marvin F. Pechacek

Marvin Frank Pechacek, age 89, of River Falls, WI, passed away on June 27, 2014. 

Marvin was born on August 19, 1924 in River Falls, WI; one of five children born to Edward and Anna (Andrle) Pechacek. Marvin was raised on his parents’ dairy farm in River Falls. He was united in marriage to Marian L. Marek on October 1, 1946 at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Church in River Falls. Eight children were born to their union. 

Marvin and Marian farmed most of their married life in Prescott, where they raised their family. Marvin’s love for God was great, and he loved his neighbors as himself. His family, friends, and farming were also important to him. His legacy was to share his strong faith with his family. He also held great importance to keep St. Mary’s Catholic Church parish alive and well through his dedication and priority to the church. He will be remembered for his warm smile, friendly and kind attitude, and was always welcoming all who came to the parish. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Knights, as well as ushered at church.  

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marian; children: Gerald (Carol) Pechacek, Dianna (David) Esterby, Edwin (Catherine) Pechacek, Lois (Steven) Huppert, Steven (Glorianne) Pechacek, Patrick (Kelly) Pechacek, and Chris (Janice) Pechacek; grandchildren: Anne Pechacek, Jonathan (Stephanie) Pechacek, Jeff (Tiffany) Esterby, Marion (Becky) Esterby, Kelly (Michael) Nelson, Andrew (Tracie) Esterby, Michael & Matthew Pechacek, Adam & Nathan Huppert, Rose (Patrick) Breslin, Rachel, Maria, & Derek Pechacek, and Hannah, Elisabeth, Gabrielle, Evan, Vanessa, Isaiah, & Raphael Pechacek; great-grandchildren: Dain, Ella, Nolan, Cooper, CJ, Zoe, Noah, Abby, Ben, Katlyn, Megan, Madison, Andrea, and Breia; and sister, Rosella Huppert.

He is preceded in death by his son, David; parents, Edward and Anna Pechacek; and siblings: Roman, Arnold, and Marcella Pechacek. 

A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 E. Division St, River Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10.30 a.m on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Bridget Catholic Church with a visitation 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. Father William Matzek will be officiating the Mass. Interment at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Cemetery.
