MaryAnn Elizabeth Berg, age 76 of Hudson WI and known affectionately as “Mickey”, went to join her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 17, 2015. Mickey was born December 19, 1938 in Sauk Rapids MN to parents Lester and Laverne (nee Nast) Young. Mickey was a graduate of Sauk Rapids High School. On November 3, 1960 in Seattle WA, Mickey would be united in marriage to Robin L. Berg Sr. Their union in marriage would be blessed with three children, and over 54 years of love and devotion.

Mickey was the owner and president of the MRB Company, which sold fiberglass resins globally. Outside of work, Mickey loved flowers and flower gardening, as well as floral arranging and crafts. She was a true animal lover, most fond of dogs and horses. She enjoyed reading, especially a good mystery novel. Mickey lived her faith through involvement with many of the women groups at church, where she served as the president of the Presbyterian Women, was a co-founder of United Teens Encounter Christ (UnitedTEC), and also served as a Deacon. Mickey will be missed by many.

Mickey is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robin Sr.; her children: son, Robin Berg Jr. and wife Julie Rhodes-Berg; son, Dr. Timothy Berg and wife Rebecca; and daughter, Stefanie Berg Rakoczy and her husband Greg; grandchildren, Caleb, Elijah, and Lilliana Berg, and Christian, Valerie, and Bridget Rakoczy; brother, David Young and his wife Rita; sister Yvonne “Vonnie” Norton and her husband Ralph; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, George McClellan Young and his wife Beatrice.

Funeral Celebration of Life for Mickey Berg will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 14107 Hudson Road in Afton MN. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at the Houlton Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson WI. 715-386-3725

    • I’m so sorry to hear of Mickey’s passing. We worked together oh so many years ago at the Toro factory in Hudson, and over the years we’d run into each other, usually at Cub in Stillwater. Mickey will be missed, she was a wonderful lady!
