Mary Elizabeth Ness, age 55, of Glenwood City, WI, passed away on February 19, 2016 at her home in Glenwood City after a hard fought battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Mary was born on October 22, 1960 in Escanaba, MI to Melvin and Rose (Abba) Olson. She grew up in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School. It was there that she met Dale Ness, and on September 25, 1993, they were married. Their marriage would be blessed with a daughter, Amanda.

Mary loved being the head of the kitchen for Headstart and thoroughly enjoyed creating relationships with the students and staff there. Aside from her career, her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She was a vocal Packer fan, and an avid Nascar supporter.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Ness; daughter, Amanda Ness; grandchildren: Destiny, Anthony, Bella, and Carson; brothers: Bob (Mary) Olson, Sam Olson, and David (Sherry) Olson; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Carl.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin. Interment will take place at a later date at Gardens of Rest Memorial Park in Escanaba, MI.
