Mary Jayne Witzman

Mary Jayne Witzman, age 86, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Yuma, AZ, and Sparta, WI, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015 at Red Cedar Canyon in Hudson.

Jayne was born on July 14, 1928 in Evanston, IL to Thomas and Martha (Feldkamp) Pirt. Her family moved to the Milwaukee area, where she attended and graduated from high school. 

In 1947, she was united in marriage to Philip Witzman, and they would be blessed with five children: Thomas, David, Marsha, Barbara, and Stephen. For 26 years, Jayne and Phil enjoyed living in Yuma, AZ, until Jayne moved to Red Cedar Canyon in Hudson in 2011. 

For many years, Jayne worked as a Purchasing Agent at a hospital in Sparta, WI. 

Jayne loved camping with her husband and children, and after purchasing their 5th wheel, enjoyed traveling the country with her husband. They travelled to Spain for their wedding anniversary, and continued traveling to places like Alaska and Mexico. She was known for her talented voice and harmonizing, and beautiful guitar playing, both for church and with her son. Jayne was an avid reader and walker, walking to and from work everyday in the summer. 

She is survived by her children: Thomas (Jane) Witzman of Crestview, FL, David (Linda) Witzman of Panama City, FL, Marsha Witzman of Thornton, CO, Barbara (Dennis) Sharp of Hudson, WI, and Stephen (Crystal) Witzman of New Haven, IN; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Barber; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Phil; grandson, Steven Phillips; and brother, Jerome Pirt. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson with a gathering 1 hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment in Yuma, AZ.
