Mary Louise Anderson, age 83 of Prescott WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Prescott Nursing and Rehabilitation. Mary was born April 19, 1934 in Superior WI to parents Raymond and Eula (Jensen) Anderson. Mary moved with her family to Austin MN, and graduated from Austin High School with the Class of 1952. She was united in marriage to Delbert Dunning in 1952, and though Delbert would precede her in death, their union in marriage would be blessed with five children. Mary was later united in marriage to Marshall Anderson in 1973.

Mary worked for many years as a clerk for the Minnesota Dept of Revenue. In later years, she would work as a school lunch lady, and also as a waitress. She never liked to be idle, always working and keeping busy, and reading a daily dose of the newspaper wherever she was. Mary was a gardener at heart, content with being outside in the garden, even if it meant just pulling weeds. Family was important to her, and Mary could bring them all together with a big meal, especially on her Wednesday night dinners. As a special treat, once a year Mary would stand on her head, just to show her loved ones that she still could. She enjoyed Bingo and casino trips with her sisters, as well as traveling to San Carlos, Mexico or going to the Pipestone Point Resort in Canada. Mary loved to sew clothes for dolls and Barbies, and hold theme parties with the grandkids. She was known for her special “Turkey in the Straw” dance, and passed those dance skills on to her grandkids and great-grandkids. Mary’s home was open to all, and she took great pride in organizing family reunions. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her children, Mike Dunning, Bonnie (Lothar) Nawrocki, Jim (Tammy) Dunning, Kristi (Chris) Blanchard, and Kevin (Christine) Dunning; daughter-in-law, Vicki Dunning; grandchildren, Mandy (Don), Christina (Sonny), Chad (Abbi), Holly (Zac), Deana, Lisa (Joel), Vanessa (Robert), Austin (Kallie), Lily (Dusty), Tyler (Jenni), Justice, and Mason; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Daisy, Ellie, Charlie, Shayla, Kaleb, Lily, Will, Carter, Carolyn, Ivy, Easton, Aureus, and Royal; siblings, Denny (Ellen) Anderson, Kay Null, Chickie (Howie) Kutcher; and sister-in-law, Deanna Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Mary was preceded in death by husbands Delbert Dunning and Marshall Anderson; her parents; her brother, Buzzy; and brother-in-law, Bob Null.

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mary L. Anderson will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Joy Lutheran Church, 1435 St. Croix Street in Prescott WI with Pastor Steve Meyer officiating.
