Matthew William Sutmar, age 25 of Hudson WI, passed unexpectedly on March 4, 2012. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Sutmar and Patrick McConville, his grandmother Mary Cynthia Sutmar, and his uncle Steven Sutmar. Matthew is survived by his father Thomas Sutmar, his mother Cynthia McConville, and his sisters Stephanie, Jessica, and Ashlee, his grandmother, Audrey McConville, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Matthew proudly served as an Army Sgt. in the Iraq War, earning numerous commendations. Matthew enjoyed a wide range of wonderful hobbies, especially hunting, fishing, and spending time with his three sisters. Matthew leaves behind many memories, lots of laughter, but most of all, love. “The soldier leaves the war, but the war never leaves the soldier.”

Mass of Christian Burial for Matthew Sutmar will be held at 10:00AM on MONDAY, March 12th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine Street in Hudson, with Rev. Fr. Gene Murphy officiating. Visitation will begin 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial with full military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 1:20PM Assembly Area #5. Memorials preferred to donors choice. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson WI, and the Countryside Crematory. 715-386-3725
