Maxine Orella Leen, age 72, of Hudson, passed away surrounded by her family Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St. John’s Hospital in Maplewood, MN. She was born the daughter of Alvin and Phoebe (Anderson) Lundell on February 11, 1938 in Goodhue, MN. She attended Hastings High School her freshman year, and then graduated from Cannon Falls High School. As a teenager, she worked at Cannon Falls Sweet Shop. She then worked for Northwest Airlines.

On February 4, 1967 Maxine was united in marriage to Roger R. Leen at the Cannon River Church. Their union would be blessed with two sons, Randy and Cary. After her sons were raised, Maxine went back to work. She began at Lehman’s Farms, and then went to the mailroom of St. Paul Companies (now Traveler’s Insurance). Throughout this time she was active in her church, Mt. Zion Lutheran of Hudson, serving on the alter guild for over 20 years and with the Women of ELCA. She loved her church and her church family. Maxine enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading, cheering for the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with her family and friends.

Maxine will remain in the hearts of her husband of 43 years, Roger Leen of Hudson WI; sons, Randy Leen of Hudson WI and Cary (Jennifer) Leen of Hammond WI; five grandchildren: Ryan Leen of Sioux Falls SD, Morgan, Erin, Lauren, and Emma Leen of Hammond WI; step-granddaughter, Kaylynn Branson; siblings: Leslie (Norma) Lundell of Goodhue MN, Donald (Connie) Lundell of Bloomington MN, Merlyn (Beatrice) Lundell of Newport MN, Marlys (Robert) Linkert of Apple Valley MN, Peter (Karen) Lundell of Rosemount MN, and Betty (Michael) Chapman of Northfield MN; sister-in-law, Joyce Lundell of Inver Grove Heights MN and brothers-in-law, Richard Ozmun of Northfield MN & Arnold (Hope) Leen of Waterville MN; many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rozella Ozmun, and brother Myron Lundell.

A Funeral Service will be held for Maxine at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 22nd at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 505 13th Street, Hudson. Pastor Brian Ferguson will officiate. Visitation one hour prior to the service and on Friday, January 21st from 4:00 until 7:00 PM all AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery of River Falls.
