Maxine “Max” Schiltgen

Maxine “Max” Schiltgen, age 74 of Hudson, died on March 10, 2018.

Max was born on October 18, 1943 to Mac and Alice (Swanson) Adrian in Forest Lake, Minnesota. She attended elementary and high school in Hastings, Minnesota before furthering her education at Glenwood Hills Hospital and becoming and LPN. Max worked for River Falls and Hudson Hospitals before becoming a stay at home mom. After the kids were grown, she went back to work as an LPN for Home Health Nursing Homes.

Max took pride in community involvement. She was a part of the Homemakers group, a 4-H Leader, PCCW, Red Hatters, Hudson Gardening Club, River Falls Mutual Insurance Board, the Troy Town Board and enjoyed attending the Knight’s of Columbus events. One of her greatest joys was being a Foster Parent while raising her own children. Max was an avid collector of many items; especially camels.

Max is survived by her husband, Jon; children, Steven (Janet) Schiltgen of Alexandria, MN, James (Leslie) Schiltgen of Woodbury, MN, Mark Schiltgen of Hudson, Kim (James) Troug of Huntly, IL, and Pat (Danielle) Schiltgen of Hudson; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Fiancée Shelby Blair), Jacob, Lisa, Dayne Gehrman, Samantha and Thomas Troug, Benigno, Vance, and Mateo; siblings, Lucille Burger, Judy Adrian, Ron (Becky) Adrian, Joe (Mary Lynn) Adrian, Rose Adrian, Mike Adrian, Geri Sullivan, and Jenny Adrian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mac and Alice Adrian; grandchild, Amanda Grace Schiltgen; and brothers, Bob (Marie) and Clifford.

A Visitation for Max will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 10:30 AM, with a visitation one hour prior to the service, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, WI. Interment will take place in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery following Mass with casketbearers being Lori Adrian, Meredith Gross, Nicholas Schiltgen, Jacob Schiltgen, Dayne Gehrman, Dan Burger, Dave Gross, and David Adrian with her beloved Homemaker’s Club as honorary casketbearers. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.
