Mayelva Vivian Rimer, age 85 of Hudson, WI, passed away January 6, 2019 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. She was born on May 29, 1933 in Hudson to Audrey and Amy (Colver) Daniels. Mayelva was a proud, lifelong resident of Hudson. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1951, and was united in marriage to Ronald Rimer on January 31, 1953, at the First Baptist Church in Hudson. Their marriage was blessed with two children. Mayelva worked as a telephone operator with the Wisconsin Telephone Company, before she started an over 30 year career of selling Avon.

Mayelva’s life was based around her family, and she would not have wanted it any other way. She was an extremely proud grandma, and an even prouder great-grandma. Mayelva was delighted to showoff pictures of her six great-grandchildren and she relished in sharing their accomplishments. An early interest in knitting gave her children and grand-children, sweaters to be proud of. Mayelva enjoyed watching the wildlife that would frequent their yard as well as feeding the squirrels and birds, and having breakfast at Denny’s with her friends.

Mayelva will remain in the heart of her husband of 65 years, Ron; children, Luanne Rimer, and Ken (Jayne) Rimer; grandsons, Kenneth (Dyann) Rimer, and James (Cori Price) Rimer; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Alexa, Elana, Peyton, Rachel and Kaitlyn; siblings, Donald Daniels, Darlene (Dick) Larson, Rollie Daniels, Mary Lou Herzanach, Daryl (Nancy) Daniels, Rita La Faye, Susan (Butch) Ramirez, June (Lorin) Sather, and Teresa (Randy) Vollrath; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Natasha Weigel; her parents; and brothers, Myrlon and Ron Daniels.

A memorial service for Mayelva will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 19th at the Bethel Lutheran Church – Downtown Campus, 920 Third Street in Hudson. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials preferred.
