Michael A. Faust, age 66 of Somerset, “The Carpet Guy” died peacefully Sunday April 1st, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. Michael was born on September 21, 1951 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; the son of Arthur and Ruth Faust. He was raised in Fond du Lac where he attended school.

Most people will remember Mike through his dedicated time installing carpet in the greater Somerset area. He was self employed for 45 years making many friends and loyal customers over the years. He was a proud member of the Somerset Chamber of Commerce and Somerset Community Foundation as well as advisory council for Mohawk Industries and past President of the Floor Covering Association.

On October 21, 2017, he was united in marriage to his best friend and soul mate Debra Jean Montpetit. Although their marriage was much to short, they had an unconditional love greater than anything they had ever experienced.

Mike loved life. His motto was ‘Be Happy” which he lived up until the day he died. His infectious smile and larger than life personality touched all who knew him. His faith was the cornerstone of his life and lived by the 11th commandment to do unto others as you would do unto yourself.

Mike leaves to celebrate his life his beloved wife Debra; daughters Michelle (Brandon), Taria, Typhannie; granddaughter Isabella Watson; his father Arthur; siblings Lynda Faust, Larry (Brenda) Faust; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

    • I am very sad to see this. Mike was not only skilled at his job, but also a truly nice person. I’ll always remember his installing our hardwood kitchen floor (beautifully!); and conversations we had. Our condolences to his family. Gone too soon….
