Michael Alan Toenjes, age 41, of Hudson, Wis., passed away on May 11, 2016, as a result of a heart attack.
Mike was born January 13, 1975, in Stillwater, Minn., to Connie (Hanson) and Alan Toenjes. Mike lived in Lakeland, Minn., until 1987, when he moved to River Falls, Wis., with his mother and step-father, Leonard Juaire.
Mike attended school in River Falls and graduated from River Falls High School in 1993.
Mike was blessed with 4 boys – Zachary, Tyler, Bryce and Benjamin – with whom he shared many interests and adventures. Mike and his boys enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping together. During their adventures they shared jokes, wit and much laughter.
Mike was a truck driver for many years, and loved his most recent job at Foster Trucking & Excavating out of Ham Lake, Minn. He met many people in the industry and formed many lasting friendships.
Family and friends were what mattered to Mike. He was a helper with a big heart. Mike’s wit was renowned. He brought laughter to many situations and wasn’t afraid to calls things the way he saw them. Mike’s kind and caring ways will be dearly missed by those who were touched by him.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edwin & Enid Toenjes, Uncle David Toenjes and Great-Uncle Bill Toenjes.
Mike is survived by his loving sons, Zachary & Tyler Toenjes (their mother, Rose); Bryce and Benjamin Toenjes (their mother, Stacy); parents, Alan Toenjes, Connie and Leonard Juaire; siblings, Erin (Ryan) Most, Dana (Aaron McWilliams) Juaire, Bethany (Jeremiah) Klein and Matthew Juaire; grandparents, Clifford and Inez Hanson; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Angie Perry.
A visitation for Mike will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. May 17, 2016, at Hope Lutheran Church, 3337 Kingsbarn Ave. River Falls. A memorial service begins at 2:00 pm. A celebration to honor Mike’s life will be held immediately following the memorial service at St. Croix Lanes in River Falls at 1153 St. Croix St.
