Michael Eugene Erie-Dalziel, age 72 of Prescott WI, passed on Friday, December 4, 2020 surrounded by the love of family and dear friends.
Michael was born on April 2, 1948 in Red Wing MN to parents Louis Sr. and Grace (Martinson) Erie. Michael attended school in Red Wing, and graduated from Red Wing High School with the Class of 1966. Michael served his country in the United States Army from 1968-1970. Upon his return, Michael enrolled at the St. Paul School of Cosmetology. Michael was an unbelievably talented artist, and was known for his beautiful playing of theatre organ. Michael also had an instrumental role in the Theatre Organ Society. In 1971 he would meet his lifelong partner, Roger Dalziel. They were devoted to each other for 46 years and resided in their beautiful home in Prescott, where they opened their house to many people and events. Their events epitomized “Fun times! Wonderful parties! Open houses! Great music!”
At all times, and in all ways, Michael exhibited kindness. Simply put, he was an amazing, talented, generous, and thoughtful man who cared about his family and friends. He will be missed dearly by family and friends alike. Here are some of their sentiments held for Michael… “a gem who’s shone so bright; our lives were made so much richer”, “enriched us all by being the vibrant fabric of our lives”, “one of a kind not seen anymore”, “our beloved big brother who took our hand ‘Let’s go see the little loves’ ”, and “our brother, friend, dad, and gay icon! Thanks for the lessons, stories and laughs!”.
