Michael Henry Weyers, 78, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away on November 9, 2023 at Hudson Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1945 to Henry and Ruth (Bartels) Weyers in Hudson, WI.

After high school, Mike received his associate degree in Architecture Designing from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Boston. He was an outgoing individual who never let a conversation run dry. Everyone felt welcome around him with his genuine care, encouragement, and support. He enjoyed Civil War reenactments with the 6th Wisconsin Company B, alongside his son, Brian. He spent many a Sunday morning taking care of his son, Danny, before going to church.  Mike loved old cars/shows and could tell you everything about them. The morning he passed away, a brand-new toy car was delivered to his grandson, Thomas, that Mike had ordered the week before. He held many titles in his life; husband, father, brother, son, and “Pa.”

Mike worked as a Mechanical Designer at ASE in Saint Paul where he would eventually meet the love of his life, Shelly Marklowitz. They were married on Valentine’s Day in 1987. The two were blessed with two sons, Brian (Amy) and Danny Weyers.

Mike’s faith was extremely important to him and he radiated the Christian morals in which he believed during his daily life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, was on the board of deacons, and volunteered for the youth mentorship program for years. Being a part of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) was an amazing joy in his life. He also volunteered for the We Do Feet program and served as a Boy Scout Troop leader and was even able to serve as a leader alongside his son.

Mike remains in the hearts of his loving wife, Shelly (Marklowitz) Weyers; sons, Brian (Amy) and Danny Weyers; grandson, Thomas; siblings, Charmaine (Jack) Diehl, Nylah Bizek, Mary Lou (Russ) Noreen, Pete Weyers, Dan (Lisa) Weyers; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joseph and Ruth Lucille (Bartels) Weyers; siblings, Loleta Weyers, Pat Weyers, Dianne Weyers, Ruth Ann French; and brothers-in-law, Duane Bizek and Bruce French.

A memorial service for Mike will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1205 Sixth Street, Hudson, WI 54016 at 10:30 AM with lunch to follow. A livestream of the service can be found HERE. A visitation will occur at the church an hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hudson, WI “We Do Feet” program or Trinity First Lutheran School, 1115 East 19th Street, Mpls, MN 55404 in Mike’s memory.

  1. Shelly,
Our hearts are saddened at your loss.
Mike was a loving giving father and Christian.
    He will be so missed.

  2. We will miss Mike greatly as he was such a generous man. For years when those of us deputies would work Thanksgiving in the jail, he would bring us in turkey so we could give thanks with our coworkers. Thanksgiving will always be special to me because of his kind heart and generosity.

  3. I send you, Mikes’ family my heartfelt condolences and prayers b
In your loss. Mike was a friend in the class of ‘63. I will always remember his sincere interest in whoever he was talking with, his sense of humor and the calmness.
    Peace,

    Dave Olson
