Michael Steven “Micke” “Bubba” Netz Jr., age 39 of Hudson, died unexpectedly Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his residence.  Michael was born June 18, 1976 in Rice Lake, WI, the son of Sandra (Ballou) and Michael Netz Sr.  He graduated from St. Croix Central High School, the Class of 1994.  Mike started working with the City of Hudson – Water and Utility Department in 2007, and transferred to the Public Works Department in 2008.  He accepted a promotion in 2014 as City Inspector, working until recent.

Michael’s biggest accomplishment was being a daddy to his beautiful daughter, Lauren, who brought him so much joy.  He was a wonderful father, providing love, laughter and the best bear hugs.

Outside of his work, Mike enjoyed mountain biking, camping, fishing and BBQing.  He was also well entertained in watching drag racing.  He appreciated nice cars, and was especially fond of Mustangs.  He was a proud MN Viking fan, who loved cheering on his team.  He was an exceptionally kind hearted guy, who brought so much happiness to those around him.  His sweet spirit and bear hugs will be dearly missed.

Michael will remain in the hearts of his precious daughter, Lauren, and her mother, Stephanie Netz; his parents, Sandra and Michael Netz Sr. of Roberts; sisters, Marissa (Troy) Petersen of Hastings, MN and Lacey (James) Jafolla of Madison, WI; nephews, Alex and Joe Petersen; his pets, dog, Bella, parakeet, Angel and Tabby cat, Ruby that he lovingly took care of with Lauren; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Curtis and Marion Netz and Harold and Jeanetta Ballou and aunt, Sharon Wagner.

A Time to reflect on Mike’s life will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family, and will be used for his daughter Lauren’s future.
