Michael Raleigh

Michael E. Raleigh, age 66 of St. Cloud, formerly of Somerset, WI, passed away November 12, 2014 at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center. Michael was born March 4, 1948 in Stillwater, MN, the son of John and Alice (Jacobson) Raleigh. He graduated from Hill High School, the class of 1966. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Michael was a talented musician, who was known as “The Piano Man.” He enjoyed his performances at River’s Edge in Somerset for many years, and more recently at The Whitney Center and VA Medical Center in St. Cloud. Michael’s musical talent and kind spirit touched the hearts of many, and he will be dearly missed.

Michael is survived by his brothers, John Raleigh and Patrick Raleigh; sisters, Jeanne Fabiano and Janelle (Robert) Sutherland; sisters-in-law, Karen Raleigh and Celeste Raleigh; 5 nephews; aunt, Mabel Arnquist; other loving relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and William; sister, Mary Pat Schuna; brothers-in-law, Keith Schuna and Philip Fabiano; and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 141 Church Hill Rd., Somerset, with Fr. Andy Anderson officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment with military honors will take place at St. Anne’s Cemetery. Pallbearers assisting with the services will be: Todd Sutherland, Daniel Sutherland, John Sutherland, and William Raleigh Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be: Allen Belisle, Roger Schaar, Perry Sutherland, Michael Baker, Richard Hurd, and Roger Tremel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Funeral services are entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson (715) 386-3725
