Mildred Irene Risser, 103, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Petroleum, IN, passed away December 4, 2018. Mildred was born on April 24, 1915, the daughter of George & Alda Luttman in Jay County, IN. She graduated from high school in Petroleum, IN and went on to work for the K-Mart Distribution Center in neighboring Fort Wayne, IN. On November 25, 1934, Mildred was united in marriage to George Henry Risser in Bluffton, IN; their union was blessed with a daughter, Norma Jean, who passed away in February of 2014 after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

Mildred & George enjoyed traveling the country together in their Airstream camper. Together they eventually retired to Largo, FL. Mildred & George shared 74 years of happiness before George’s passing in April of 2009 at the age of 93. Soon after, Mildred moved to Hudson, WI to be with her family. In her last years, Mildred enjoyed spending time with three generations of grandchildren. She also loved keeping in touch with her extended friends & family via email, playing cards, doing Sudoku puzzles, & reading.

Mildred is survived by her grandchildren, John (Cindy) Monce & Larry (Susan) Monce; her great-grandchildren, Jessica, Angela, Tyler, & Kyle, her great-great grandchildren, Alexandria & Adrie; & many other friends & family members who will miss her dearly. She is reunited in death with her husband, George; her daughter, Norma Jean; & her parents, George & Alda. Plans for a graveside gathering at Stahl Cemetery, Petroleum, IN are pending for the spring.
