Monica Eldora Streed, age 87, of Jordan MN, passed away at Boutwell’s Landing in Stillwater on Monday, June 20, 2011. She was born the only daughter of Elisée and Laura (Dugrenier) Venne on August 15, 1923 in Manchester, New Hampshire. She enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 and served as a Yeoman during one year of WWII. On June 21, 1946 Monica was united in marriage to Donovan P. Streed in Minneapolis MN. They were blessed with four children, and she was a dedicated, loving, and devoted mother. The Streeds were the owners and operators of Seivert’s Jewelry in Waseca for 30 years.

Monica will remain in the hearts of her husband, Donovan; daughter, Barbara (Robert) Butler of River Falls WI; sons: Donovan A. Streed of Rockford IL, Peter A. (Irena) Streed of Waterville MN, and Daniel H. (Barbara) Streed of Eaton Rapids MI; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; brothers: Wilfred Venne of Manchester NH, Claude Venne of Manchester NH, and Phillip Venne of Bangkok, Thailand; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert and Louis Venne.

Her visitation will be held on Monday, June 27th from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, with a Rosary, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 E. Division St, River Falls WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 28th at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 313 2nd St E, Jordan MN. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church in Jordan. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson WI, 715-386-3725. Memorials may be designated to the American Diabetes Association.
