Neil Katner

Neil Katner age 88, of Edina, Formerly of Hudson, passed away on April 9, 2019 surrounded by family. Neil was born on February 10, 1931 in Hudson WI, to Ralph and Ruth (Sandberg) Katner. Neil grew up in Hudson and graduated High School with the class of 1949, after which he spent 4 years in the Air Force. He married the love of his life Theresa McManus April 24th 1954. Together they had nine children.

For most of Neil’s life he worked as a supervisor at Andersen Windows in Stillwater and he also was a farmer. Neil and Theresa retired to Alabama for 21 years where he made many valued friends. Neil started working with Habitat for Humanity which he recalled as one of the most fulfilling things he had done in life. He was a dedicated Wisconsin sports team fan, particularly his beloved Green Bay Packers. He loved spending time outdoors taking long walks. He often traveled and visited all around the country as well as Europe, but his favorite place to be was at the family cabin on Grindstone Lake were the whole family would spend time together.

Neil will remain in the hearts of his wife Theresa, children Susan Katner (Jake Priester), Steve (Sue) Katner, Jerry (Pam) Katner, Ruth Nolan, Anne Katner (Kraig Howes), Doug Katner, Louise Katner, Beth (Frank) Jackson and Maura (Bart) Trout; grandchildren Andrew, John, Anna, Michael, Melissa, Mitchell, Brian, Eric, Christopher, Anthony, Madeline, Adrian, Gabrielle, Max, Sydney, David and Alex; great grandchildren Paige, Brendan, Aubriella, Lucas, Kya, Macklin, Mackai; Siblings Marjorie Malernee, Francis August, and Paul Katner. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Service for Neil will be at 5pm on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will be from 3-5pm on Thursday before the service at the funeral home.
