Nellie Ann Vollrath, age 92, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Milltown, WI, passed away in the early hours of Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Comforts of Home in Hudson, WI. She was born on November 27, 1927 to parents John & Clara (Olson) Elliott in Milltown, WI. Nellie Ann called Milltown her home for the majority of her life. She graduated from the Milltown High School, married her best friend, Edward Vollrath, in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Iowa, & raised her family of three girls, Kay, Beckie, & Lisa, in Milltown. During her working years, Nellie Ann worked as a sales clerk in a couple of the local stores around town. She was an avid flower gardener; & planted plenty of geraniums in her yard every year for her friends & neighbors to admire. Nellie Ann was also known for her sewing skills. She made many outfits & clothing for both herself & her family over the years. Nellie Ann’s kindness & big heart will be dearly missed by her beloved family, but also the friends & neighbors she made during her blessed time in Milltown.

Nellie Ann will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Kay (Jack) Muske of Woodbury, MN, & Lisa (James Joseph) Hayes of Hudson, WI; seven grandchildren, John Clemons, Dan Johnson, Sarah (Mike) Warren, James (Jeanna) Hayes, Matt Hayes, Mark Hayes, & Katherine (Tom) Callaghan; three great-grandchildren, Derrick Warren, James Hayes, & Carson Hayes; three siblings, Peggy Bengtson, Joan Terry, & George Elliott; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family & friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edward; her parents, John & Clara; daughter, Beckie Peterson; granddaughter, Kimberly Hayes; sister, Pat Lundmark; & long-time partner, Dennis “Bud” Johnson.

A Memorial Service for Nellie Ann is being planned for a future date. Interment will take place at the Milltown Lutheran Cemetery in Milltown, WI alongside her husband. In lieu of memorials, contributions to a charity of your choice in Nellie Ann’s memory are preferred. Services entrusted to O’Connell Family Funeral Home.
