Nolan Anderson

Nolan “Nolie” Anderson age 61 of Baldwin died Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Baldwin Area Medical Center following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Nolie was born on May 30, 1952 in River Falls, Wisconsin; the son of Nels and Norma (Stork) Anderson. He was raised on the family farm in Hammond Township where he attended Happy Valley Elementary prior to graduating from Baldwin-Woodville High School. On September 16, 1972, he was united in marriage to Ruth Hilmanowske at First Reformed Church in Baldwin. This union would be blessed with sons Kurt, Matt, and Tracy. Nolie worked side by side with his dad on the farmstead prior to going into the cattle hauling business. He would drive for others before going into business for himself in 2004.

Nolie lived by the Golden Rule; to treat others as you would want to be treated. His non-judgmental demeanor, seeing the best in everyone, was appreciated by all. He was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church and served as a deacon. First and foremost in his life was his faith and and spending time with family. Hunting/fishing with the guys, playing cards (5 Crowns & Trash), or supporting his grandkids in the school or personal quests gave him the utmost pleasure. His travels with Ruth to places such as Mt. Haleakala in Hawaii were most memorable; especially with friends like Dennis and Teri Foerster and Dave & Glenda Anderson.

Nolie will forever live on in the hearts of his wife of 41 years Ruth; sons Kurt Anderson (special friend Gina Centimole), Matt (Tobie) Anderson, Tracy Anderson (special friend Kris Grass); grandchildren Alex and Trevor; siblings Lola Vos, Amelia (William) Bentley, and Robert Anderson. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother David.

Memorial service for Nolie will be 11AM Saturday November 9th at First Reformed Church in Baldwin. Visitation will only be Friday from 3PM to 8PM; also at First Reformed Church. Burial will be in the Baldwin Cemetery. Memorials preferred. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin.
