Norma J. Grekoff

Norma Jean (Conibear) Grekoff, sweetest soul, arrived in Heaven on May 26, 2018. Norma was born on February 9, 1922 to James and Elsie (Bokelman) Conibear in Paynesville, Minnesota. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in Clear Lake, IA, the class of 1939. On February 20, 1941 Norma was united in marriage to Matty Grekoff and together they were blessed with two sons, Richard and Dallas.

Norma spent most of her life farming in Nora Springs, Iowa with her husband. She was very knowledgeable about birds and their annual migration. She enjoyed their spring return and took great care of them. Norma was an avid gardener and loved getting her hands dirty by planting beautiful flowers around the house. Norma was a kind and gentle soul with selflessness like none other. She was a very special woman and will be dearly missed.

Norma is survived by her son, Dick (Mary) Grekoff; daughter-in-law, Loretta Grekoff; grandchildren, Todd (Jess) Grekoff, Randy (Nan) Grekoff, Kim (Scott) Hinrichson, Troy (Vanessa) Grekoff, Lisa (Jim) Dardine, Laura (Bob) Quade, Missy (Michael) Williams, Mindy (Rob) Bissonett, and Karla (Mark) Synder; 21 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Norma was blessed with 5 sets of twins within her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Matty; son, Dallas; and sister, Doris Pitkin.

Funeral Service for Norma will be held at 5:00PM on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Internment will be at Park Cemetery in Nora Springs, IA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family’s discretion. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.
