Norman Arthur Doyone, age 89 of Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2023 at Christian Community Home. Norman was born on October 3, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Norman and Doris. He attended McKinley High School in Washington D.C. and after graduating, enlisted in the United States Coast Guard.  He served for 4 years.

Norm’s first job was as a Printer/Mailer for the Washington Post and later the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Star Tribune. He was an artist all his life and when he retired he attended the University of River Falls and received a Bachelors of Arts Degree. in 1996.

Norm had many talents and interests.  He was a portrait painter, a farrier, a drummer, a potter, a Rodeo participant, metalsmith (a past member of the Guild of Metalsmiths) golfer (he received a hole-in-one once), hunter, fisherman, history buff (he could regale his family and friends for hours about history), a martial artist with a black belt rank in Judo, Constable of Hudson township, and Scout Master for Pack 148.

He even met his wife, Margaret Elizabeth, at a judo event.  They were married on November 26th 1965 in Washington D.C.  Together they raised three children.

He will remain in the hearts of his wife Margaret “Liz”; daughters Lenore (Craig), Suzy (Mark) and son JD; granddaughter Alexa and grandson Max; sister Marilyn; sisters-in-law Rita (Jack), Ramona, Ann (Dan), Laura (Brian), Mary, Bette and Yvonne; brothers-in-law Leo (Phyllis), Mahlon, Clifford, Chuck, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law Charlie, Bill (Gerri), Thomas, Dr. Leo, Robert, Tony, Tom (Norma); sisters-in-law Zita, Gertie, Loretta, Eileen, and Marilyn.

The family greatly appreciates the compassion and support given by the staff at Christian Community Home & Lakeview Hospice. He could not have had better care. We are forever grateful.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Parish in Hudson, WI. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. with mass starting at 11 a.m.
