Patricia J. Ecker, age 85 of Hudson, passed away February 29, 2016 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. Patricia was born December 7, 1930, the daughter of Arnold and Hazel (Simmelink) Lokker. She attended Sunnyside Grade School, and graduated from Baldwin High School, the Class of 1949. After High School, Patricia furthered her education obtaining a teaching degree at Teacher’s College in River Falls. She was united in marriage on April 17, 1954 to Kenneth Alfred Ecker. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Lousette and Timothy. Patricia lovingly raised her children and provided graciously for her family. When her children were grown, she worked at Erickson’s Grocery. Patricia also worked as a nursing assistant at Christian Community Home in Hudson for 15 years, until her retirement.

Patricia appreciated the beauty of the outdoors and tending to her flower gardens. In her quiet time, she enjoyed knitting and reading. She was extremely active, and was fond of bicycling and walking. Her gracious heart found her volunteering her time at First Presbyterian Church and the Phipps Center for the Arts. Most important to Patricia was her family, she especially cherished her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Patricia will remain in the hearts of her children, Lousette (Kenneth) Schultz of Rochester, MN and Tim (Jean) Ecker of Hudson; grandchildren: Andy (Alison) Schultz, Marc (Rachel) Schultz, Amanda Schultz (fiancé, Tyler Staven), Katie Ecker, and Rachel Ecker; great-grandchildren, Maren, Henry and Harper Schultz; sister, Colleen Brunner of Rochester; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Allen (Darlene) Ecker of Hudson, Carol Bennett of River Falls, Leona Kinney of Hudson, and Geri (Roger) Sipple of Baldwin; and many other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; brother, Paul Lokker; sisters, Beatrice Muehlberger and Janet Stone; her parents, Arnold and Hazel Lokker; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alfred and Rose Ecker; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: George and Donna Peck, Bob Bennett, and Dick Kinney.

A Visitation will take place 4:00 – 8:00pm Friday, March 4th at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Vine St., Hudson, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, March 5th at First Presbyterian Church of Hudson, with Pastor Stephanie Anthony officiating. Interment will take place at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Patricia’s grandchildren have the honor as pallbearers.
