Patricia Odden

Patricia Marie (Andersen) Odden, age 86, of Hammond, formerly of St. Paul, died peacefully April 24, 2016 at the Hudson Hospital. Patricia was born December 7, 1929 in St. Paul, MN, to Florence and Earnulf Andersen. She graduated from Monroe High School and attended Rassmusen Business School in St. Paul, MN. Patricia was united in marriage to Curtis T. Odden (of St. Paul) on June 3, 1950. Their marriage was blessed with three children. Curtis’ job with Armour Foods required multiple transfers causing their three children, Michael, David, and Susan to all be born in different towns.

Patricia lovingly took care of her family as a housewife and mother for 20 years. After her children were grown, she then took a job as a receptionist for a dentist in Ironwood, MI. They were then transferred back to Minnesota. From Minnesota they were transferred to Chicago, IL and from Illinois, back to Minnesota, finally retiring on Lower Clam Lake in Siren, WI. Patricia was active in the Moose Lodge, Woman of the Elks and Jaycees. She loved the peacefulness of living on the lake, enjoyed fishing, and was also an accomplished artist. Her medium of choice was oils on canvas. Patricia had a green thumb and found joy in gardening. Patricia and Curtis had many happy memories in their travels together. They were snowbirds for over 20 years pulling their camper south with their beloved dog, Brewster.

In her golden years they reluctantly sold the lake home and moved to Hammond, WI where she resided until her death.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; and her older sister, Marian. Patricia is survived by her husband of 66 years Curtis; her children, Michael (Shelly), David (Linda), and Susan (Jim) Mohr; sister, Kathy Wallen of Aurora, CO; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Patricia will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 27th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1250 Broadway, Hammond, with Pastor Michael Briggs officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow lunch at Elmhurst Cemetery in St. Paul. Patricia’s grandchildren have the honor as pallbearers. In honor of her loving heart for animals, memorials are preferred in her name to your local animal shelter.
