It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Rose (Carr) Kane, who left us on her 86th birthday, December 25, 2024.
Born in Austin, Minnesota, in 1938, Patricia was a vibrant spirit who brought joy to all who knew her. A 1956 graduate of Stewartville High School, Patricia showcased her talents as an organist and also as a choir director at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Her music extended beyond church walls as she became a member of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, where she played the French horn.
Patricia’s beauty, grace, and charm were recognized early in her life; in 1958, she was crowned Miss Rochester, MN. Her journey then took her to Portland, Oregon, where she became a trailblazer in the fields of building design and sales.
Known for her adventurous spirit, Patricia even piloted small engine aircraft along the stunning Northwest Pacific coastline for her business travels, a testament to her daring nature. Her hobbies included raising and training Doberman Pincher dogs. A lifelong resident of Portland, Oregon, Patricia relocated to the Twin Cities area in MN in 2023, to be closer to her family.
Patricia will be remembered by those closest to her including her cousins William Carr, Timothy Carr, Terrence Carr, Kevin Carr, Maureen Ideker, Debra Daciw, and Benno Carr; plus, nieces, nephews, and friends. Patricia was proceeded in death by her beloved parents Fred & Rosemary (Hendry) Carr; her sisters Colleen (Robert) Olson and Mary Jo (Raymond) Dick; and her brother James Carr.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Stewartville, with the burial.
