Patrick L “Hatchet” Haugeland, age 67, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, died early in the morning on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Hatchet was known for his sense of humor and his love of the outdoors. He could often be found up North, hiking, or on the Eau Galle River around Spring Valley. Hatchet proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy.
He is survived by his four children, Lisa Sandoval of Franklin Park, IL, Lori Haugeland of Melrose Park, IL, Amy Pastrana of Franklin Park, IL and Shay Haugeland of Baldwin, WI; step-son, Jeremy (Amy) Johnson of Elmwood, WI; grandchildren, Steven and Michael Sandoval, Sarah Garza, Anna Maria, and Christopher, Melanie and Juliana Pastrana; sister, Cindy (Darwin “Hap”) Litzell and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Hatchet is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Myrtle Haugeland.
A memorial celebration of life for Patrick will take place at 12pm on October 18, 2013 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Burial will follow at the Northwestern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. Visitation for Patrick will be held from 10am until the time of service. Memorials preferred.
