Pauline Joan “Polly” Wangert, age 51, of Hudson, died as a result of a brain aneurism on Monday, September 19, 2011. Polly was born the daughter of Willis and Doris (Ulrich) Tulare on March 17, 1960 in Winona, MN. She graduated from high school there and then attended Viterbo University. She earned a medical assistant degree. In 1980, Polly married Daryl Wangert. They were blessed with two children, Michael and Kyra.
Polly has worked in the health care field since she was a young woman. From 1999 to 2007 she was a nurse at Hudson Prairie Elementary School, and most recently she was a favorite care assistant with Comfort Keepers in Hudson. She brought so much love, care and comfort to all of her students, clients, and co-workers. They all loved and admired her beautiful, caring soul.
Polly thoughtfully came up with the name of Hudson Prairie Elementary School. She taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for many years at Bethel Lutheran Church, and she devoted many volunteer hours at community events. She enjoyed cooking, going for walks, gardening, watching romantic movies, and especially spending time with her two children and grandchildren. She was proud of her son raising two beautiful children and of her daughter earning the title of Miss Hudson in 2007. Polly was a very genuine and wonderful woman who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Polly is survived by her son, Michael Wangert and daughter, Kyra Wangert; their father, Daryl Wangert; grandchildren Landon and Lohgin, and their mother, Randi Lawrance; mother, Doris Tulare of LaCrosse, WI; brother, Walter (Ranee Roelse) Tulare of LaCrosse, WI; sister, Helen (Don) Gunderson of Wood Lake, MN; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
