Peggie A. Hawkins

Peggie A. Hawkins, age 79, of Hudson, WI, died September 18, 2020 at Hudson Hospital.

Peg was born on May 16, 1941 in Ellsworth, WI to Sidney and Elaine (Riley) Laughnan. She attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and graduated from Hudson High School, the class of 1959. Following her graduation, she began working at 3M as a Materials Control Coordinator, retiring after 37 years of dedicated service. On October 17, 1964, she was united in marriage to Edward Hawkins at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson, a marriage that would be blessed with 2 sons, Anthony and Scott.

Dancing was Peg’s passion, and where there was music, Peg and Ed were likely on the dance floor. No matter the type of music, Peg and Ed were always showstoppers on the floor, even being summoned by bands to come encourage others to dance too. She enjoyed her yearly winters in Tuscan, where she and Ed spent many hours enjoying time on the golf course. During the summer months, she relished in spending time basking in the sun on the dock of their cabin reading a good book. She had an extensive library, ranging from romance novels to thrillers. She loved cheering on her Green Bay Packers, and her daily three mile walks, rain or shine. Above everything, Peg was the backbone of her family, and had a loving, beautiful, and kindhearted soul. She will be deeply missed by all those who loved her, and those whom she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; son, Scott Hawkins (Julie Hendrickson) of New Richmond; grandchildren, Jackie and Brett Hawkins (Dakota Bratland); great-grandchildren, Joey and Aubrey; brothers, Jack (Kathy) Laughnan of Hudson, WI and Pat (Beth) Laughnan of New Richmond; and sister, Linda (Gene) Dahlby of Hudson, WI.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sid and Elaine Laughnan; and son, Tony.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson with a visitation held one hour prior to the Mass at church.
