Pennie Ramsey

Pennie Kay Ramsey, age 64 of Hudson, passed away August 20, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Pennie was born January 11, 1952 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Donald Carlson and Nancy (McLellan) Cunningham. She was united in marriage on August 14, 1982 to Mark Stephen Ramsey. They raised two daughters, Tammy and Carrie. Pennie worked as an accountant for many years.

In her quiet time, Pennie loved reading, especially romance novels. She enjoyed traveling, with some of her favorite trips being to Ireland, Alaska, and Hawaii. She delighted in baking; and making her famous snicker doodle cookies for her daughter, Tammy and her delicious apple crumb pie for her daughter, Carrie. Most important to Pennie was her family. She adored her time being surrounded by the laughter and joy of her loving family and dear friends.

Pennie will remain in the hearts of her daughters, Tammy (Dean) Luczynski and Carrie (Rick) Larson; her pride and joy, her grandchildren: Marisa, Jessika and Masen Luczynski, Colten, Chase and Jaxon Larson; father, Donald Carlson; siblings: Denise (Joe) Starkey, Richard (Julie) Carlson, Sherri (Wesley) Bard, Timothy (Sherryl) Carlson, Lisa (Heather Hendrickson) Carlson, and Donald (Julie) Carlson; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Ramsey; and mother, Nancy Cunningham.

A Memorial Gathering will take place from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson.
