Phyllis Raehsler, age 74 of Woodville died Thursday, February 4th 2016 at United Hospital in St. Paul following a brief illness. Phyllis was born on March 4, 1941 in Baldwin; the daughter of Carroll and Myrtle (Thompson) Gaustad. She was raised in Baldwin graduating from Baldwin High School. On November 27, 1961, she was united in marriage to Roger Raehsler at the parsonage in Spring Valley. To this union, three daughters were born; Janet, Teri, and Beth.
Phyllis worked at McMillan Electric for many years as a coil-winding operator. In 1985, her marriage to Roger dissolved. Phyllis took the greatest pleasure from family get togethers. One of her favorites, was getting pampered by her granddaughters; which included getting her nails done. She was an avid Green Bay packer fan, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and Subway sandwiches. She kept her finger on the pulse with her police scanner and loved keeping up to date with Days Of Our Lives.
She is survived by her daughters Janet Raehsler of Woodville, Teri (Jim) Sebion of Beldenville, Beth (Dale Caturia) Van Dien of Ellsworth; grandchildren; Cody, Cory, Ashley, Jacob, Jordan, Brooke; siblings Marlys DeSmith, Charlene Snyder, Jan Knipfel, Diane Jeske, Madeline (Lawrence) Vier, Caroline (Stanley ‘Dip’) Hanson, Tommy (Sandy) Gaustad; brother-in-law Barry Moran; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; children Richard Alan and Joan Carol; siblings Rosalie Moran and Peter Gaustad; and former husband Roger Raehsler.
A time to gather to reflect on Phyllis’s life will be on Wednesday, February 10th from 4 to 7pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Interment will be private. Memorials are preferred to the family. No formal service will be held.
