Visitation

Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7PM at the O’Connell Family funeral Home in Hudson as well as one hour prior to the service at church on Monday morning

Ralph Dickman age 82 of Hudson and Cumberland died peacefully Monday June 18, 2012 at his home. Ralph was born on May 5, 1930 in Superior, Wisconsin; the son of Verlaine and Ingeborg (Larson) Dickman. He was raised in Superior where he attended the Cooper Elementary School prior to graduating from Superior Central High School. Following this, he enlisted and served in the Minnesota National Guard. On May 31, 1952, he was united in marriage to Delores Axelson at the Pilgram Lutheran Church in Superior. This union would be blessed with five children. He was a gifted machinist who worked for the Great Northern Railroad as well as American Can for over thirty years.  Ralph was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as a day on the golf course or cruising around in their boat. He also enjoyed working on model boats and trains.

Ralph will remain in the hearts of his wife Delores, children Patrice Bjerstedt of St. Paul, David (Sandra) Dickman of Woodbury, James (Teresa) Dickman of Hudson, Thomas (robin) Dickman of Hudson, Carolyn (John) Doebber of Woodbury, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and sister Lois (Sanford) Gretebeck of Burlington, WI.

He is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Ronald Bjerstedt.

Funeral service for Ralph will be 11AM Monday June 25th at First Lutheran Church at 1180 8th Avenue in Cumberland with Pastor Tim Schmidt officiating. Interment will be private. Urnbearers will be Eric Bjerstedt, Scott Bjerstedt, Brian Dickman, Joshua Dickman, Adam Dickman, Andrew Dickman. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7PM at the O’Connell Family funeral Home in Hudson as well as one hour prior to the service at church on Monday morning.
