Ralph Francis Schommer

Ralph Francis Schommer, age 84, of Ellsworth, WI passed away at Preferred Senior Living in Ellsworth on Friday, April 6, 2018. He was born on November 24, 1933 in Red Wing, MN to Eugene and Margaret (Purfeerst) Schommer. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Air Force. On June 9, 1959 Ralph was united in marriage to Kathryn M. Birkel. He worked for 3M for 35 years. He was a longtime member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Margaret Schommer; sisters, Rose Hove and Dorothy Frey.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathryn Schommer; brothers, Eugene (Jane) Schommer and Lee Schommer; sister, Carol (John) Mercord; 27 nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ralph will be 11:30 am Thursday, April 12th at St. Francis Catholic Church, 264 S. Grant St., Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will be 10:00-11:30 am also at the church. Interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
