Ramona “Monie” Merriman, age 82 of River Falls died Monday, July 15, 2013 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson where she resided the past year. Family members were at her side.
Monie was born Sept. 25, 1930 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin to Arvia & Inez (Roatch) Merriman. She was the 9th of 10 children in the family.
Monie began her employment as a lab tester for the Baldwin Creamery. When the creamery closed she went to work in the Twin Cities for Dairy Quality Control. She retired early after she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
Monie did not marry & had no children of her own. However, her nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephews spent much time with her camping, fishing & driving her car! She loved her bowling & after retiring spent hours working with crafts. Monie also devoted several years taking care of the record books for the Beldenville Cemetery.
She enjoyed time with her friends & loved her time with family – especially on the holidays.
Monie was preceded in death by her parents, as well as siblings Lee, Bill, Rex, Mavis, Donna Jean, Maxine & Merlin. Also nephews Terry Merriman & Lee Rudiger & niece Lila Merriman Clay.
Monie will forever remain in the hearts of her brothers Max (Betty) Merriman of River Falls, Everal “Bud” Merriman of Clayton, sister-in-law Bonnie Merriman of Baldwin & nieces & nephews & also many great & great-great nieces & nephews; all of whom she dearly cherished.
A time to reflect on Monie’s life will be at 3PM on Sunday July 21st at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Private interment will be at Beldenville Cemetery. Memorial preferred to Beldenville Cemetery or donor’s choice.
Funeral services were entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home & Countryside Crematory.
