Randall “Scott” Vogt

Randall “Scott” Vogt, age 72, of Hudson, WI, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Scott was born on January 15, 1949 to parents Melvin “Julie” and Dolores Vogt in Stillwater, MN. He grew up alongside his sister in Hudson, WI, and graduated from Hudson High School with the class of 1967. After high school, Scott joined the U.S. Navy and relocated to San Diego, CA for the duration of his service. Upon his honorable discharge and return to the Hudson, WI area, Scott started a career at Andersen Windows in Bayport, MN, and was a loyal employee until his retirement in 1995. Scott also proudly served as an auxiliary police officer for the Hudson Police Department for 20 years during this time. He enjoyed spending his time away from work volunteering with the Hudson J.C’s and as a troop leader for local Girl Scouts. Scott was also an outdoorsman, and he took every opportunity he could to go fishing, hunting, or out for a nice, long ride on his Harley. He also frequented the local gun ranges and clubs, and participated in many hand gun competitions throughout his lifetime. Though Scott stayed busy with his many hobbies, and was incredibly honored to have served for both the U.S. military and the Hudson police, his biggest fulfillment in life was becoming a dad, and eventually a grandpa. Nothing brought Scott more happiness than spending time with his grandkids. His family will remember him fondly as the family jester, as he would never shy away antics that might get a laugh. Scott’s brazen sense of humor and unassuming, laid-back outlook on life will continue to inspire those who were closest to him to stay on the sunny side of life, no matter what it brings you.

Scott will remain in the hearts of his two children, Grady (Lisa) Vogt of Hudson, WI, & Tiffany (Boudy) Vier of River Falls, WI; four grandchildren, Garret & Ilah Vogt, & Noah & Kaelyn Vier; sister, Candy (Gary) Imholte of Newport, MN; as well as many extended family members & friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julie & Dolores.

A Memorial Service for Scott will be held at 4:00 P.M, Friday, April 16, 2021 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th St. S. Hudson, WI 54016, followed by full military honors. A Visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00 P.M leading up to the service. Scott’s Memorial Service will be livestreamed – please click HERE for his livestream. A Private Interment alongside his parents will occur at the Willow River Cemetery, in Hudson, WI.
