Randy Westling

Randall M. “Randy” Westling, age 57 of Hudson, died suddenly Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his residence following a hard fought battle with cancer.

Randy was born October 11, 1956 in Minnesota to parents Milo and Eva (Renville) Westling. He graduated from Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights, MN. Randy served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic. A car accident limiting some of his abilities caused Randy to change his focus from airplanes to auto mechanics. He was a well known, gifted mechanic around the Hudson/Roberts area, having worked for Don Colbeth’s Mobile and Repair, Roberts Towing and Repair and more recently, The Muffler Shop of Hudson.

Randy was united in marriage to Cindi Wittek on October 26, 1990 in Hudson. Together they have two beloved children, Jeffery and Marki. Beyond his family, Randy loved to work on cars, especially his ’57 Buick. It was said that he could fix anything with a motor whether it floated, flew, drove or shimmied. His passion also included the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers, having built and driven many green and gold Packer Mobiles. Randy also enjoyed Hunting and Fishing with his son around Grantsburg and playing darts.

Randy is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cindi; children, Jeffery and Marki; parents, Milo and Eva Westling; sisters, Lori Korby, Vicki (friend Mike) Westling and Debi (Brad) Fleischauer; brothers-in-law, Dave Wittek, Scott (Char) Wittek and Danny Wittek; sisters-in-law, Pati (friend Bob) Wittek, Jani (Dennis) Javis, Khaki (Brian) Aveinreip, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 4 to 8 PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson. Please wear your Green Bay Packer or Wisconsin Badger attire, or drive your old collector car to the gathering to pay tribute to Randy’s passions. Memorials are appreciated.
