Raymond “Jay” Livermore

Raymond “Jay” Livermore, age 72 of North Hudson, died unexpectedly on May 12, 2018 at the Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN.

Jay was born on May 22, 1945 in Hudson, the son of Raymond and Helen (Krueger) Livermore. He graduated from Hudson High School, the Class of 1963, and continued his studies at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Jay was drafted into the Marines and served in an artillery unit in Vietnam. He would later earn his college degree through the International Correspondence School. Jay was united in marriage on June 28, 1969 to Jean LaCosse at the First Baptist Church in Hudson, and their marriage was blessed with two children. The family made their home in Hudson before moving to New Ulm, MN, and eventually returning to Hudson. Jay worked as an industrial engineer at 3M for almost 30 years. He worked a few more years with Nor-Lake before retiring in 2003.

Jay loved his family and was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather that cherished his grandchildren. He was a member of the Hudson VFW Post #2115 and active with St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity. Jay loved people and felt comfortable talking to anyone. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church and sang with the church choir. Jay was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling, deer hunting, and most recently singing karaoke.

Jay will remain in the heart of his wife of 48 years, Jean; children, Jason (Rhoda) Livermore and Heather (Jon) Bregel; grandchildren, Margaret and Matthew Livermore, Andrew and Grace Bregel, and Zachary Helget; siblings, Leigh (Mary) Livermore, Mark (Mary Jean) Livermore, Kirk (Beverly) Livermore; aunt, Betty Livermore; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon LaCosse; and niece, Kellie Kluge.

A Memorial Service for Jay will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at First Baptist Church, 309 Vine St., Hudson, with Pastor Scott Jorgenson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at the Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. A reception will follow at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S 11th St., Hudson. Memorials preferred to Be the Match (National Marrow Donor Program) or St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity.
