Rebecca “Becky” L. Swanson

Rebecca “Becky” L. Swanson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 77. Born on January 31, 1947, to parents Melvin and Juanita Olson. She grew up in New Richmond and graduated from New Richmond High School. She was united in marriage in 1968 to Dave “Swanee” Swanson, which later dissolved in 1992. Becky worked at Andersen Windows for many years before her retirement.

She found joy in gathering with loved ones for holidays, family gatherings, and car shows, cherishing the moments of laughter and connection. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals and baked goods and was also a big fan of old western films and oldies music.

She will remain in the hearts of her children Angela (Larry) Klein, Denise (Mike) Almer, and David Swanson; grandchildren Amanda (David) Bunch, Katie Bunker, Jessica Bunker, and Taylor Anderson; great grandchildren Serenity, Sierra, and DJ; sister Lynda Pauling and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rebecca was preceded in death by: Parents Melvin Olson, Juanita Olson, brother John “Smoke” Olson.

Please join us in celebrating Becky’s life at a memorial service on Friday September 20, 2024, at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI. Visitation will be from 1-3pm with a service starting at 3pm. Followed by a graveside service at the New Richmond Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the family.
