Renee Marie Klossner, age 76, of Hammond, WI, passed away on October 13, 2023, surrounded by family. God called her home quickly after many years of struggling bravely through complex health issues. Renee was born November 18, 1946, to parents Clarence (Sam) Helfman and Mary Maxine (Farrand) Helfman. She grew up in South St. Paul and graduated from South St Paul High School.
Renee had several jobs, the first at First National Bank in St. Paul and the last running a day care out of her home. Her favorite job was being a wife and a mother. Her greatest joys and pride were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Renee joined into marriage with Emil Klossner on January 8th, 1999. They enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds at their home in Hammond, traveling to Lake Havasu City, Arizona during the winters and visiting with friends at their lake home on Wapogasset in Amery during the summers.
Renee was athletic. She played softball, enjoyed bowling, playing golf and corn hole tournaments. Renee’s gift to the world were her creations in stained glass, her works of art. She loved playing cards, cribbage, coloring, reading, collecting rocks and hiding chocolate throughout the house. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Her last days were filled with family, shopping, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Emil; daughters Lori (Jeff) Johnson, Dana (Dave) Lofgren, and Susie Johnson; Emil’s children Cheryl, Randy, Kim and Sue; grandchildren Ryan, Katelyn, Aaron, Quinn, Tory, Karissa, Stefani, Grace, Gabbie, Cody, Lauren, Jessica, Danielle, Blake and Gavin; 7 great grandchildren; sister Renelle (Doug) Mahoney; sister-in-law JoAnn (Jim) Helfman; first husband Mick Johnson; cousins and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Sam and Maxine; brother James Helfman; granddaughter Kaleigh; nieces Theresa Helfman and Molly Meador; nephew Thomas Helfman; son-in-law Alan Lofgren.
A service for Renee will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1880 County Road G, New Richmond, WI 54017, located north of Hammond. Visitation will be from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. with mass starting at 2:00 p.m. Food will be catered in at 3:00 p.m. in the basement of the church. In lieu of flowers, please bring non-perishable food items to the service to be donated to Neighbors Inc., in Renee’s memory of her favorite food shelf. If you can, call your mom and tell her you love her.
Renee Klossner was a vital part of Cast-Away RV Park. She always had a smile on her face and was willing to have a meaningful conversation and or a listening ear. She taught many of us how to make cement stepping stones. She was a strong woman and was an inspiration as to how she handled her many health issues. She will be missed. We are in Europe so will sadly miss her service.
