Rev. Salvatore Joseph “Fr. Joe” Collova A.A.C., age 64 of Hammond died Friday, January 4 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. Fr. Joe was born on May 10, 1948 in Milwaukee; the son of Joseph and Rose (Emanuele) Collova. He was raised in Milwaukee where he attended elementary school before graduating from high school in Melrose Park, Ill. He would fufill his dream of bcoming a Catholic priest by receiving his Master’s degree in theology at St. Francis De Sales Seminary in Milwaukee. Following this, he served as a Roman Catholic Priest in the Milwaukee Diocese for such churches as St. Rita’s Catholic Church. He would dissolve his association with the Roman Catholic Church and become affiliated with the American Apostolic Catholic Church.

Fr. Joe is survived by his brother Mel Collova, neice Rose (Tom) Carlson, brother-in-law Paul Campanaro, nephews Richard (Jan) Campanaro, Robert (Robyn) Campanaro, Paul A. (Beth) Campanaro, and other extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Carmela Campanaro and Antoinette Collova. 

Funeral service will be 2:00PM, Saturday, January 12th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home; 520 So. 11th Street, Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at O’Connell’s. Burial will be in the family plotat St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Little Canada, MN. Memorials are preferred.
