Richard “Dick” R. Proch, age 78, of Ellsworth, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on Monday, February 24, 2014 at the Ellsworth Care Center, Ellsworth, WI .Dick was born in Belfield, ND on June 16, 1935.Following a successful business career in the Twin Cities, he purchased the Fair Grounds Pavilion in Ellsworth. The business soon became Proch’s “Popular” Ballroom. For the next 16 years the ballroom provided numerous entertainment experiences for the entire area. After selling the ballroom Dick was employed by Budget Rent-A-Car, and Medco Medical Equipment. In his retirement he spent time traveling and providing his handy-man services to family and friends.Dick will be missed by his family and all those that he touched.Dick is survived by his wife, Jo, Ellsworth, WI.Daughter, Yvette (Dave) Christensen, Fridley, MN; Son, Darryn (Sheryl) Proch, Anoka, MN.Five grandchildren: Bree (Josh); Tayler; Dany; Elle; and Jesse.One great-grandson, Brooks.Brother, Roger (Linda) Proch, Hudson, WI; sister, Cathy (Don) Ollum, Anoka, MNDick is further survived by two nephews Danny and Matt and many friends.His mother, Tillie “Baba” Proch, preceded him in death.Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ellsworth, WI is serving the family.
