Richard William Perkins, age 63 of Prescott, died unexpectedly on December 19, 2021. Rick was born on November 18, 1958 to Judy Mabin in Red Wing, MN. He graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1978. Rick married the love of his life Deborah Lytle on November 17, 1979 at Prescott United Church of Christ. Their union blessed them with three children, Chris Perkins, Brian (Janelle) Perkins, and Sarah (Derik) Dahl.

Rick was a dedicated Buccaneers fan and would never miss a game! He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it be camping, deer hunting, bean bags, croquet, or going to sporting events. Rick was a dedicated father and grandfather who loved his family endlessly. His family was the light of his life. Rick loved playing cards (Euchre), and any game with Dice. Rick was a skilled craftsman and was specifically proud of his signs he would make while he was “busy” in the garage. Prescott Daze was one of his favorite times of the year. He would volunteer with different events but thoroughly enjoyed going to the car shows, especially with his oldest son, Chris. As you know, Rick was a very social person and loved to see friends and pester them if he could! Honking his horn at everyone’s houses, he drove passed. His goal was to turn those “drive by’s” with a golf cart rather than his precious truck. Rick had a huge personality that no one could ever forget, and a belly laugh that everyone loved and will be missed.

Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie, children: Chris Perkins, Brian (Janelle) Perkins, and Sarah (Derik) Dahl; grandchildren: Bryson, Brigham, Jorie, a new addition coming summer 2022; mother, Judy Carpenter; sister, Tari Carpenter; mother and father-in-law: Robert & Nancy Lytle; stepsiblings: Rick (Lori) Carpenter, Ronnie (Tammy) Carpenter, and Patty Swanson (Dale), along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Duane Carpenter.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, December 26, 2021 at the Old Ptacek’s Event Center 1449 Orrin Rd, Prescott, WI 54021. A visitation will start at 11am until the beginning of the service. Pastor Lisa Bodenheim will preside over the services. The family prefers masks to be worn.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Freedom Park:200 Monroe St, Prescott, WI 54021.
