Rita Ann Mountain

Rita Ann Mountain (Nee Langer) age 65, of River Falls, WI died, Friday, January 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Rita was born on March 25, 1951 in Red Wing, MN, the daughter of Lloyd and Mary (Ortwerth) Langer. She grew up in Ellsworth and was a 1969 graduate of Ellsworth High School. She went on to attend college at U.W. River Falls, during which time she traveled with the choir to sing in Europe.
Rita married the love of her life, David Mountain, on April 8, 1972, in Red Wing, MN. To this union four children were born, Tricia, Jeffrey, Matthew and Stephen.
For many years Rita worked for the River Falls Schools, and later the Baldwin Area Medical Center and the Cashman-Hill Funeral Home.
Of all the things Rita did in her life her most prized position was being a wife, mom, and grandma. She was born to be a grandma, the grandkids were her world.
Active in the community, she served as the chairperson for the Ecumenical Giving Tree for 17 years. Rita was a very active member of St. Bridget parish, cantoring for countless funerals and weddings. She loved her church and her church family.
In Rita’s spare time she loved scrapbooking, making cards, baking and decorating cakes, dancing, playing games and she was famous for her potato salad. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and the community she loved.
Rita is survived by her husband of 44 years, David of River Falls. Her four children: Tricia (Joe) Dickison, Jeffrey (Tanya), Matthew and Stephen Mountain. Grandchildren: Kaleigh, Lindsey, and Joshua Dickison, Hannah and Tyler Mountain. Siblings: Jerry Langer, Greg (Nancy) Langer, Sue (Steve) Ferkingstad, Annette Norlander, Al (Michelle) Langer, Bob (Linda) Langer, Scott (Barb) Langer, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Mary Langer Brunner and her step-dad Calvin Brunner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00a.m., Friday, January 27, 2017 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls, WI. Visitation will be on Thursday at St. Bridget, from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. and for one hour prior to the Mass on Friday. Burial will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, River Falls, is serving the family.
