Robert “Bob” Bruce Schellin, age 81, of Ellsworth, WI, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, WI, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on June 13, 1943, in Madison, WI, Bob was the beloved son of Eric and Dorothy (Garner) Schellin. He graduated from Madison East High School before proudly enlisting in the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Rogers in the Gulf of Tonkin. His time in the service instilled in him a deep sense of duty, patience, and resilience—qualities that would define his life.
Bob married his first love, Lila Sackett, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Their union was blessed with four wonderful children: Shane, Jason, Lance, and Sonja. Family was the cornerstone of Bob’s life, and he cherished every moment spent creating lasting memories with them.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob had a passion for Muskie fishing, hunting, and camping. He found solace in nature and took great joy in traveling across the country with his family, always seeking out new places to explore. Whether it was casting a line in a quiet lake or enjoying a hearty breakfast at Sawyer Joe’s Café in Ellsworth, Bob appreciated the simple joys in life. His unwavering patience, kind spirit, and warm heart left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bob is survived by his loving children: Shane (Brittany) Schellin, Jason Schellin, Lance (Sarah) Schellin, and Sonja (Mike) Anderson; his cherished grandchildren: Paige, Clayton, Charlie, Emerson, Maxamillion, Chayse, Adelyne, Kai, Aidan, Sophie, Darla, Harper, Winnie, Tanner, Steele, and Irelynd; six great-grandchildren; his brother Donnie (Mary) Schellin; and his brother-in-law Bob Kortman.
He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved second wife, Audrey; his parents, Eric and Dorothy; and his siblings: Donna (Ray) Gove, Jerry (Carol) Schellin, Janice Kortman, and Gloria (Bob) Patridge.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at O’Connell Funeral Home, 130 N Grant St, Ellsworth, WI 54011, with a Memorial Service at 3:00PM.
